TEAM 9

Allison Holt Herrin

As a domestic violence survivor and lifelong advocate for the arts, I am genuinely honored to participate in this year’s Dancing with the Southern Stars, supporting two incredible organizations: The Magnolia House and the Waycross Area Community Theatre. By day, I serve as an office and credit manager, but by night, I transform into a self-taught artist, passionately devoted to honest and raw expression through my work.

My journey into the world of art has been a profound one, serving as a therapeutic outlet that has guided me through numerous life experiences. Every stroke of the brush on stretched linen represents a testament to my resilience and creativity, allowing me to share my story and connect with others in meaningful ways.

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to challenge myself and embrace the vibrancy of life through art. As I prepare to dance and raise funds for these vital causes, I hold onto this mantra: always live life like you’re dancing!

Casey Thornton

Casey Thornton, a proud native of Waycross, Georgia, is the youngest of three children born to Gary and Linda Thornton. A 1991 graduate of Ware County High School, Casey made his mark as an active participant in both football and wrestling. Following in his father’s footsteps, he has spent over 25 years crafting quality custom homes through his company, Thornton Brothers Construction.

In addition to his successful construction career, Casey is currently the co-owner of Mickey’s Meat Market, where he partners with his twin brother, Craig Thornton, who is two years his senior.

At home, Casey enjoys life as the devoted husband of Donna Thornton. Together, they cherish their daughter Charly Bell and son-in-law Jordan, along with their two perfect grandchildren, Jase (6) and Cyliee (4). Their lively household also includes a delightful multitude of dogs, so many that they can hardly keep track of their names!

Excited to embark on a new adventure, Casey is ready to pursue his secret dream of dancing while supporting two incredible organizations, Magnolia House and the Waycross Area Community Theatre. He is thrilled to share this journey with one of his closest and most talented friends, Allison Holt Herrin.
